On the dot : Laser processing techniques are used to prepare metal nanodot arrays, starting with the drilling of a nanohole array in a 20‐nm‐thick Al 2 O 3 membrane, followed by the deposition of the desired element and dissolution of the membrane (see picture). In this example, a gold nanodot array is prepared on a Si substrate.
