The magnetic current flux induced in various types of carbon nanotori is studied and the paramagnetic and diamagnetic properties of carbon systems are explained as a function of electronic‐band filling. By adding electrons or holes into the carbon structure it is possible to alter the band‐filling configuration, thus modifying the magnetic response. When the electronic gap of these systems approaches zero, the local ring currents (either diamagnetic or paramagnetic, see image) are enhanced.
