Gene genie: Stimuli‐activated changes in gene‐delivery systems are investigated using AFM. Thermoresponsive nanocarriers (see image) show size increases over a scale range that can be exploited for site‐specific deposition. Redox‐responsive nanocarriers in intracellular environment conditions disassemble into the component parts. These findings highlight the importance of research at the pharmaceutical–nanotechnology interface in the development of next‐generation drug‐delivery systems.
