Anatase nanostructures : Nanosized TiO 2 fibers were prepared by filling mesoporous molecular sieves with TiCl 4 at 90–150 °C under pressure. Subsequent hydrolysis in air resulted in TiO 2 nanofiber growth from the surface of the spherical template (see picture). TiO 2 fibers with a tunable diameter of 12–50 nm were obtained. Removal of the mesoporous template gave core–shell structures.
