Unidirectional energy transfer is achieved in bilayers of CdTe nanocrystals of two different sizes produced by electrostatic assembly of oppositely charged particles without the need for an intermediate linker. Within these planar structures with reduced inter‐layer distance, transfer rates up to (50 ps) −1 are demonstrated which are 2.4 times faster than the fastest rates reported to date.
