A novel protocol for the direct halogenation of 8‐amidoquinoline derivatives with phase‐transition was reported. The reactions were promoted by benzyltriethylammonium chloride and dihalogenated hydantoin, using exclusively water as the solvent and achieving the C5‐halogenation products of amidoquinolines in moderated to excellent yields at room temperature.
