Nanosheets Decorated Micro Balls (NDMB) of MoS 2 have been synthesized using hydrothermal technique for their utilization in electrocatalytic hydrogen generation. A synergetic effect of 2H and 1T phase in NDMB was found to yield efficient hydrogen evolution reaction ( HER ) for splitting water molecules. NDMB electrode, fabricated by immobilization over transparent conductive substrate yielded lowest tafel slope of 40 mV/dec with smallest onset potential of 90 mV vs . RHE. Superior performance of NDMB for hydrogen evolution reaction can be attributed to synergy of 1T/2H composition and high electrochemical surface area of 170 cm 2 as compared to the bulk MoS 2 .
