Abstract In this study, for the first time, the functionalized organometallic graphene oxide (GO) catalyst was prepared by covalently grafting of the Schiff base zinc complex on the surface of GO. The chemical and physical structures of the catalyst were completely characterized by different analyses such as FT‐IR, TEM, EDX, TGA, XRD, SEM and ICP. Then, the applications of nano heterogeneous catalyst have been investigated for the synthesis of 1,2,3‐triazoles via azide‐alkyne cycloaddition reaction. Although, synthesis of 1,2,3‐triazoles derivatives has been reported by a wide variety of copper catalysts, this is the first report for the synthesis of 1,2,3‐triazoles derivatives catalyzed by heterogeneous Schiff base zinc complex.
