Herein, we describe a simple and efficient synthetic approach to tricyclic sulfones containing fused [5/7/5] ring system from three isomeric Diels–Alder adducts via ring‐rearrangement metathesis (RCM) as a key step. Seven membered sulfone containing ring system developed here has been encountered as constituents of HIV protease inhibitor. To this end, we successfully synthesized three sulfone containing molecules in good yields. Some of them are unambiguously characterized by a single crystal X‐ray diffraction studies. Our simple approach allows the synthesis of highly fused tricyclic sulfones which are difficult to design by conventional methods.
