Abstract A metal‐free cross‐coupling reaction of H‐phosphine oxides, H‐phosphonate esters, and diarylphosphines with N‐(aryl/alkylthio)succinimides in water was developed. This protocol provides a greener synthesis of thiophosphinates, thiophosphates, and thiophosphinites in moderate to excellent yields. The mechanism of this reaction probably involves nucleophilic substitution and free radical reactions.
