A novel efficient phosphorus free ligand Schiff base 5‐tert‐butyl‐3‐(piperidine methyl) salicylaldimine has been developed for the Cu‐catalyzed Heck reaction in neat water. Both aryl bromides and electron‐deficient aryl chlorides could proceed smoothly with moderate to excellent yields. The catalyst system is reusable.
