Biomass is an alternative and renewable carbon feedstock for fossil fuel in chemical industry. An important pathway for biomass conversion is the conversion of turpentine oil into different chemical intermediates. Herein we described the hydration of turpentine assisted by ultrasound waves in the presence of an inorganic acid. The desired product α ‐terpineol was obtained up to 60% of selectivity after 100% of conversion of the turpentine oil, and short reaction times were needed (15 minutes to 1 hour).
