A facile approach for dendrimer stabilized gold nanoparticles and their application in the generation of hydroxyl radicals has been developed. Dendrimer stabilized AuNP‐1 exhibits more efficient catalytic activity than triehylene glycol stabilized AuNP‐2 in the generation of hydroxyl radicals, and further oxidized methylene blue (MB) to MB‐OH. In addition, the AuNP‐1 induced •OH generation is more notable at neutral pH than at the basic or acidic pH level.
