In this study, an efficient one‐pot method was developed to synthesize Ce‐doped ZnO photocatalysts in the polyionic liquids. The synthesized samples have better photocatalytic degradation activity than pure ZnO. The excellent catalytic performance may be due to the fact that the doping of Ce increased the surface dispersion of the ZnO nanoparticles, and the addition of the polyionic liquids further enhanced the dispersion. And the addition of polyionic liquids increased the dispersion of ZnO particles and doped Ce centers, which greatly limits the photogenerated electron‐hole recombination, thereby increasing the photocatalytic degradation activity of the material.
