A straightforward one‐step method for the 1‐((methylthio)methyl)‐2‐phenyl‐1H‐benzo[d]imidazole from o‐phenylenediamine and aldehyde has been developed employing DMSO as a solvent and as a reagent. In addition, the desired product can be collected with excellent yields under the suitable conditions.
