Here we report that a HOAc‐assisted protocol to synthesize 2,3‐disubstituted quinolines in water, from the available starting materials arylamine and aliphatic aldehyde. The arylamine substrates showed a good universality. While the phenylacetaldehyde led to a 2,3‐disubstituted quinoline product in a very low yield, accompanied by the mono‐substituted quinoline involving C−C cleavage.
