Hierarchically porous HKUST‐1 has been successfully fabricated by using organic silane (3‐Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, γ‐APS) as template under hydrothermal conditions. The amount of template affected on the porosity and morphology of the as‐synthesized samples, indicating the adjustable pore structure. The density functional theory (DFT) calculation was employed to investigate the synthetic mechanism, demonstrating that the amino group in γ‐APS may play an electrophilic role thus the MOFs could construct under the direction of template γ‐APS. The hierarchically porous structure of the as‐synthesized MOFs will improve the mass transfer efficiency compared to the conventional MOFs, demonstrating great significance for the development of MOFs.
