Herein, we describe a facile and convenient approach leading to the synthesis of α‐ketoamides by dehydrogenative coupling between sp 2 terminal carbonyl carbon of aryl glyoxals and N−H of amines using catalytic amount of DABCO under the assistance of aerial oxygen. The advantages of the given protocol involve metal‐free conditions and non‐tedious work up. Moreover, this method does not require additional oxidant(s), co‐oxidant(s) or any harsh reagents.
