Zn/N‐doped CuO have been prepared by a series of processes like stirring, soaking and calcination. Firstly, Zn‐ZIF precursors were synthesized by a simple stirring method, which is the source of Zn element. And then after a series of soaking and calcination, CuO hydrangeas doped with Zn/N were successfully synthesized. The calcination temperature was changed to control the samples’ morphology and their performances. The obtained samples showed different electrocatalytic properties in 1 M KOH solution. These samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X‐ray powder diffraction (XRD), high resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM), energy dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (EDS) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Electrocatalytic properties of the three samples have been briefly discussed.
