ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) catalyzed synthesis of novel 4H‐chromene hemiacetals with 3‐methyl‐2‐pyrazolin‐5‐one and cyclic 1,3‐diketone with high regioselectivity in aqueous medium has been demonstrated. This method is applicable to diverse substituted chromene hemiacetals and different functionalized 1,3‐diketones. All these reactions proceeded smoothly, and the products were obtained in good to excellent yields. The catalyst could be recycled and reused up to 5 cycles without any loss of efficiency.
