A facile, eco‐friendly protocol has been developed for synthesis of novel bifunctional coumarin‐thiadiazoloquinazolinone containing heterocycles via one pot, three component reaction of 5‐aryl‐1,3,4‐thiadiazol‐2‐amines, 1,3‐dicarbonyls and 2‐oxo‐2 H ‐chromene‐3‐carbaldehyde under microwave irradiation in water. Characteristics of the method include the use of environmentally benign solvent and catalyst, mild reaction conditions, moderate to high yields of products and the applicability of microwave irradiation as a source of energy.
