Benzimidazole based probe 2 has been synthesized that exhibits both RAHBs and ESIPT phenomenons on single platform. Probe 2 is used for selective estimation of CN − ions. The chemodosimetric approach is successfully used for estimation of CN − ions (100 nM) in human blood sample and plasma like solutions. The interaction behaviour of CN − with probe 2 has been confirmed through NMR titrations as well as DFT calculations.
