Cholesterol‐appended benzimidazole 1 has been synthesized. The gelation ability of the compound 1 has been examined in different solvents and it exhibits strong gelation with silver perchlorate in DMF:H 2 O (1:1, v/v). Silver ion specific gelation in DMF: H 2 O highlights the compound 1 as excellent visual detector of Ag + ions over a series of other metal ions. Furthermore, silver‐induced gel of 1 shows thermally activated ionic conductivity due to the movement of Ag + ions within the gel network.
