Pterocarpans are rare isoflavone derivatives that occur in limited Fabaceous plants. The Heck oxyarylation of 2 H ‐chromenes with o ‐iodophenols offered access to several naturally occurring pterocarpans. Among them, medicarpin showed antifungal activity to Fusarium ; however, these compounds were nearly water‐insoluble. To overcome this drawback, azamedicarpin HCl salt as a medicarpin mimic was designed and prepared via the Heck azaarylation. Effects of the salt against growth and biofilms of clinically relevant bacteria and fungi were studied. Our findings exemplified that azapterocarpan HCl salt may be beneficial as a potentiated water‐soluble form and valuable for biofilm‐related Candida infections.
