Abstract An efficient 1,6‐conjugate addition of 3‐substituted indoles to para ‐quinone methides ( p ‐QMs) using catalytic amount of Bi(OTf) 3 is described. This mild and atom‐economical protocol allowed us to access unsymmetrical diaryl(2‐indolyl)methanes in moderate to excellent yields under solvent‐free grinding conditions.
