A convenient nickel catalyzed approach towards the synthesis of diversely substituted 6‐aza‐tetrahydroquinazolines from pyrido‐pyrimidine‐2‐thione motifs with organo boronic acids by non‐basic desulfitative C−C cross coupling strategy is described. The absorption and emission spectral studies on some of the synthesised compounds reveal the existent of D‐π‐A−D systems displaying solvatochromism.
