A glow discharge lamp consisting of two hollow anodes set co‐a‐axially has been developed to attempt to improve the resolution at interfaces in depth profiling. The structure and the operating conditions of the lamp are described. In addition, an in‐depth analysis of Fe/Zn layers on steel plates has been attempted with this glow lamp. Compared to a conventional glow lamp, the measurements can be performed with improved depth resolution.
