Binary mixtures of powders of iron and zinc sulphate have been analysed with SIMS. The proportions of iron, used as representative species, were calculated with an empirical method based on the sensitivity factor. An accuracy of 7% relative has been obtained on these calculated proportions. Results obtained with two different SIMS instruments are compared, as well as results obtained by an XPS analysis.
