Malachite green hydroxide and tetramethyl‐ p ‐phenylenediamine from complete films on solutions in hydroxypropionitrile and the He(I) photoelectron spectra of these liquid films are presented. The film of malachite green is shown to be in the covalent form although the ionic form predominates in solution.
