A lock will be described that facilitates the preparation of samples in a small high pressure preparation chamber at pressures up to 30 bar (30 atm) and temperatures up to 800°C and the transport of the treated sample into the analysis chamber, which is under UHV, without reducing the pressure in the preparation chamber.
