The angular distributions of electrons backscattered elastically from a polycrystalline silver sample are studied theoretically. The simulation is based on the Monte Carlo technique where both the elastic and inelastic scattering events are taken into account. We analyzed the effect of multiple electron scattering to the spectra of elastically backscattered electrons. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
