The development of novel photoaligned fast ferroelectric LCD based on Deformed Helix Ferroelectric (DHF) and Electrically Suppressed Helix (ESH) mode is discussed. A fast response time and a high contrast ratio in ESH mode was observed. These modes can be successfully used for new FLC applications
