Recently, semiconductor lasers have been used in various applications. Initially, infrared and red lasers began to be used for optical desks and optical communication applications. After that, blue‐violet laser was developed and adopted for Blu‐ray Disc. Since then, blue and green lasers have been developed, and in recent years, semiconductor lasers have begun to be used for various display applications. This paper introduces the semiconductor lasers that have been developed so far, their applications, and various display applications that are expected in the future.
