The world's first mass‐produced 8K TV with zero border design has been launched in 2020. A series of large‐size products with a screen‐to‐body ratio close to 100% are on the market. With unique panel design and process control, we break through the limitation and reduce the cell border to less than 0.9mm. In this article, we will discuss the challenges and solutions from design and process point of view. In addition, a new pixel design concept will be introduced to minimize the transmittance loss with additional signal lines.
