Due to the difference width of black matrix (BM) in the longitudinal direction, the screen has periodic vertical lines in observation at the place 20 cm from display. The V‐line to the human eyes was visible, but it cannot be captured by the instrument, like the microscope and camera. The phenomenon of periodic V‐lines disappeared, when reduce the difference of the BM width. From the experiment, we found that just notice different trend of that tested from the experiment and calculated by Barten CSF is the same, but numerical value is mismatch. After the normalization processing Barten CSF model, We could calculate that the screen brightness difference whose BM unmodified can be human recognition, while the screen brightness difference whose BM modified to the human eyes is invisible.
