Jones matrix for the general reflective birefringent medium at normal incidence was published recently [1]. In this paper, this Jones matrix formulation is extended for the reflective liquid crystal display at oblique incidence. Numerical simulation results for reflective LCDs using this extended matrix method were carried out and compared with those of the unfolding method by Ge et al. [2] and those of the Berreman's 4 x 4 method [3].
