Translating 2‐point bend with step stress was developed to increase thin brittle specimen area tested under peak stress. The benefits include improved weakest link defect detection and readily extractable survivor data. Highly censored Weibull distributions can be obtained for life modeling applications. A description of the method, it's validation, and an example safe lifetime stress determination follow.
