We have developed a novel transflective LCD providing good visibility under various circumstances and high productivity. To obtain high image qualities in both transmissive and reflective modes, the panel designs for the transflective LCD with a twisted VA mode were examined. We adopted them into a prototype and successfully fabricated a 31.5‐inch IGZO‐TFT LCD.
