Smartphone displays are leading the transformation from LCD to AMOLED. New form factors require deeper integration of functionalities other than light emission into the panel. Scaling, photolithography, new materials and novel device architectures enable inclusion of new functionalities into displays, such as light sensing, biometrics and user interactions.
