This paper proposes a new method of detecting spoof attempts on optical fingerprint sensors. We use the light reflected from the epidermis and the dermis to detect real finger. It has high‐speed operation with no hardware addition. Therefore it can be easily applied to optical fingerprint sensors for mobile devices.
