The capacitive touch display module has a failure phenomenon after the Air ESD 10KV evaluation, and the ESD capability value of the touch panel sensor is 20KV. Based on this issue, this article studies the structure of the touch display module and analyzes the main factors affecting the ESD failure of touch display module products. At first, compared with other ESD OK products in terms of design and process parameters, it is found that the LCM does not fully cover the touch panel traces. In the next, we compare the difference between the touch display module and the touch panel, and the touch display module has conductive materials such as backlight iron parts. Then, we give the ESD mechanism analysis according to product differences, and four groups of experiments are designed to verify the ESD capability value. The results show that during the ESD test of the product, the touch panel traces that have not been effectively protected is discharged with the nearby LCM conductive materials, resulting in the breakdown of the traces. By an insulation film attached to the touch panel's sensor traces, We can increase the antistatic ability value of touch display module to 20KV.
