This paper documents the development of a high performance head mounted 3D displays using Micro‐OLEDs. The optical system couples commercial full resolution 1920*1080 pixel 0.71inch OLED microdisplay, having a diagonal field of view (FOV) of 53 degree and exit pupil diameter over 7mm and eye relief larger than 14 mm And the image distortion is less than 1.5%. An MTF of over 0.6 was achieved at 30lp/mm, ensuring a high image viewing quality of the display. The optical engine implements the diopter adjustment function, supporting diopter correction from +3D to ‐8D without degrading image quality. A driving solution based on FPGA is developed to support various high definition 3D formats.
