Blue light emitting from the white light for displays and lighting imposes threat to eyes and physiology. We will present here an action spectrum of melatonin generation suppression and the function of photoretinitis, and the methods of quantifying the blue hazards. Orange light of around 610nm is recommended as the basic lighting component for both applications.
