Lu 3 Al 5‐x Ga x O 12 :Ce 3+ ,yCr 3+ powders exhibited a strong green emission under 450 nm excitation. The photoluminescence spectra varied upon changing x values. Cr 3+ ions acted as the electron traps and led to a persistent luminescence, depending ony values.
