A novel method has been developed to evaluate gas/water vapor permeation property for high sensitivity and short evaluation time. This method has features using a dense polymer support and combining the support firmly to the permeation side of the measurement system. These structural features are simple but effective. The effect was demonstrated by an evaluation system based on this method: the system had a high sensitivity of 10 −6 g/(m 2 day) or less, permeation time for evaluation could be drastically reduced compared with a conventional differential pressure system, etc. Furthermore, the system can be easily calibrated using SI traceable SCE.
