A framework for color control in multiprimary tunable LED lighting systems is presented. Lighting performance measures for color, circadian, and temporal characteristics are reviewed, and color system modeling and solution approaches are introduced. Example multiprimary drive intensity solutions for three commercial LED systems are optimized for different lighting performance characteristics.
