Laser Beam Scanning (LBS) technology is one of the light field display technologies which are considered cures for the vergence‐accommodation problem in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR). When Lasers are applied to the human eye, special caution is needed. This paper will discuss the different laser damage mechanisms with the human eye under LBS settings. Traditionally rated Class 1 lasers are not always safe in this case.
