Europium is used as an activator in phosphors to generate the red component of white light, but there is concern about its' cost in the current market. Herein, Al 3+ is used to minimise the amount of Eu 3+ activators needed in LiEu (1‐x) Al x (WO 4 ) 2 (x=0, 0.15, 0.30, 0.45, 0.60, 0.75 and 0.95).
