This study analyzes the growing trend of display system component integration into the panel and its effects on the display industry. Integration improves image quality, reduces display module weight and thickness, enables new applications and can potentially lower costs. Additionally, integration, increases display manufacturing complexity and shifts value from component suppliers to panel makers.
