Light‐field displays produce a 3D aerial image by synthesizing a plenoptic function. Due to their wide field‐of‐view these displays are excellent as tabletop displays for collaborative groups. By using characteristics of the plenoptic function to model unique aspects of group viewing, guidelines are created to address the spatial‐angular design trade.
